1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Federal Precept ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

Federal Precept is a policy intelligence platform that provides consolidated access to federal security policy information across 15 security domains. The Platform includes full-text search, role-based views, change tracking, cross-agency crosswalks, and downloadable templates. The Platform is currently in pre-launch, and features may change prior to and after general availability.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Platform, you may be required to create an account. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials

All activities that occur under your account

Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

Providing accurate and complete registration information

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Platform to:

Violate any applicable federal, state, or local laws or regulations

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Platform

Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or servers connected to the Platform

Reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit Platform content without authorization

Use automated systems to access the Platform in a manner that exceeds reasonable use

5. Intellectual Property

The Platform and its original content (excluding publicly available federal policy documents), features, and functionality are owned by Federal Precept and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Federal policy documents referenced on the Platform remain in the public domain as works of the United States Government.

6. Subscription and Payments

Certain features of the Platform require a paid subscription. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees. Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refund policies will be detailed at the time of launch.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Federal Precept makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the Platform's accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability for any particular purpose. The Platform is an informational resource and does not constitute legal advice. Users should verify all policy information with authoritative sources before making compliance decisions.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall Federal Precept, its directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Platform immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on the Platform and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the appropriate federal or state courts.
